Me and my Mama...

What would I do without my mama? My mama has been with me the last couple of days taking care of me and cleaning my little cottage for me. I was able to come home from the hospital on Tuesday afternoon. I slept all day and night. My heart cath came out fine and the doctor did not have to put in a stint. All they are doing now is changing my heart medicine and other medicines. I believe with all of my heart that God made it turn out this way. The doctor said that the chemical stress test has a 10% chance of being wrong and that I fit into that bracket.

I prayed and prayed that I would be fine and I know several other people did and I believe that He answers prayers! I was even praying when I closed my eyes after they gave me the anesthesia.

Mom and I don't see each other that much. She lives in Louisiana and we both stay so busy. However, when we need each other we are always there for one another. She has been such a blessing to me. She went home today and I hated to see her leave. We were able to spend some special quality time together. She even looked at my blog and a few other 'special' ones to me. She loves it! Now she wants one! She doesn't have Internet where she lives. One of the funniest things that she did was...she saw where someone had left me a comment that started off with...OMG. She was so funny. She was trying to sound it out. OOOMMMG. I said "Mom, that stands for Oh My Goodness. She was like...'o.k.' Anyway later that night she came into my bedroom and said...OMG, I've got to cook supper for you too?! She was so funny! She asked me what I wanted for supper...and I was starving! That anesthesia always makes me starving! I told her that since my blood vessels were all clean, I wanted my favorite thing that she always cooked for us when we were growing up. ( Fried pork chops and rice and gravy.) That is what she fixed for me. It was so delicious! That was a celebration supper, I wont be doing that again for a long time. I am going to be eating healthy from here on out . I also plan to exercise more because my 'good' cholesterol is low. My doctor says that exercise and diet will help that.

I know that I've rambled on here tonight, I'm just so excited! God is good!
Thanks to everyone that called and came and checked on me and thank all of you who prayed for me. Thank you Phillip, Christy, and Melinda for praying with me out in the hallway before I went in. I will never forget this. I love all of y'all. Daddy, mama, Christy, Phillip, Lauren, Melinda, Aunt Jenny, Angie, Nanny, Wanda, Carla, and Stevie. All of you mean so much to me.

Some favorite photos...

I just wanted to post a few of my favorite pictures.
This is me and Christy at her wedding. I love this picture.

Me and Garrett in his nursery. Wasn't he a doll?

Cole, me and Stevie. I like this picture.

Mom, me and Garrett. He was asleep in my arms.

Me and Melinda. I love this picture.
They will be with me today at the hospital except for Garrett and Cole. My daddy and Aunt Jenny and Christy's husband will be there too. My brother called me last night and he is even coming. That is so sweet. He told me he loved me three times on the phone. We hardly ever see or talk to each other. We plan on changing that soon.
I'm a little bit nervous but not as much as I was. I know that God will be watching over me. I love the song that I have playing with this post. The words are perfect.

Happy Birthday to me...

Today is my birthday. (43 years ) Where has the time gone? I remember when I was a kid , 30 was old and 43 was really old. The more birthdays I had the farther away the 'old' numbers became. Now I think 80 is the new 'old'. LOL
I wanted to show a few old pictures of me growing up. I had some of my 1st birthday but I couldn't find them and I'm too tired to look for them. I will post them next year. This top picture is of my momma and daddy and me. My mom was 'expecting' my little brother. I was around 2 and a half.

This one above is me at around 1 or 2. Mom says the picture was taken at J.C. Penny's. They weighed me first and they charged 'a penny a pound' to take the picture. I will have to ask her how much it cost. That was a neat marketing idea! I don't know why my parents only got this one picture. The packet must have cost too much. They were both so young when they got married. Mom was 15 and daddy was 18, almost 19. She was 16 when I was born and daddy was 20.
Me and momma when I was around 7 years old. We were at a festival in our hometown. It was the 73rd birthday of our town. We all had to dress up 'old fashioned'. I loved my little dress, it was yellow and had a red satin ribbon around the waist. We were outside in the center of the street...they had set up chairs and we were singing gospel songs.

I was around 11 years old here. I've had long hair most of my life.

Me, Mom, and Christy one Christmas at Mom's house. Christy was around 2 years old here. I think it was in 1985. Her little dress was black velvet with a pink satin ribbon around the waist.

Me and my little sister, Melinda. This was taken just a few months ago. I had to stretch my arm out and take it myself. We had a girl's day out that day. We had a really good time. We need to do it again one day soon.
I had a nice birthday. I went out to my daughter and son -in -law's house this morning and she baked me a strawberry birthday cake. They got me a pretty plate that has a verse about mothers on it. It is so pretty. My baby, Garrett got me a movie, some p.j.'s and a tote bag with little hearts all over it. I haven't heard from Cole today. He is back in Tennessee. My friend Stevie brought me supper tonight. I haven't had much of an appetite for the last couple of weeks. I had to force myself to eat a baked potato. My mom called me this morning and my Aunt Jenny and my sister. Tonight my ex-mother in law called me and also my daddy.
Well...I haven't posted in a few days because I just haven't been feeling well. I went to my doctor on Thursday and got my results back. I am going into the hospital this coming Tuesday to have a heart catherization done and he might have to put in a stint. Right now, I'm still kind of in shock about the news because I didn't expect that. He said that the Chemical stress test that I did came back abnormal and part of my heart is not functioning like it should. That explains why I'm so exhausted all of the time. All I want to do is sleep. He says that after he does this, I will feel like a new person. Me legs might even stop hurting as bad. That would be great! I'm so glad that they finally found out what is wrong with me. Now I can get better and have a normal life again.
Thanks everyone who left me sweet comments and the prayers that you have prayed for me. I'm so glad that I have made all of these new 'friends'. It really means a lot to me.

Going on a field trip with Garrett

I've been MIA the last few days. I've been so busy with 'everyday life' that I have only been able to look at a few 'blogging buddy' blogs and that wasn't until this morning. I tried to catch up on everyone...it is amazing how much you can miss when you don't check in with your favorites! Everyone has been so busy and creative lately! Tomorrow, I am going on a field trip with my little boy's second grade class. He is so excited. We are going to an Insect Museum! Fun, fun, fun! I really don't like bugs! We will take tons of pictures! He has his own little camera! I wanted to show a few of my favorite pictures of Garrett. This first one was taken of us when he was 3 years old. He is so handsome!

He was around 18 months old here in the back of the truck. I loved him wearing overalls. He doesn't like to wear them now that he is a big boy!

He was around 2 years old in this one. He was in the kitchen with me and he wanted to help me cook. He still likes to do that.

Garrett, this past Christmas. He has grown so much! He will be 8 years old next month. It's hard to believe! Time has flown by so fast! He is my sweet little man.

We are going to have so much fun tomorrow! He wants me to ride the bus with him and his classmates. I can't wait! lol I go back to the doctor for my test results on Thursday. I'm a little nervous. I'm ready to find out what is going on with me so that I can start getting better. I'm trying to get back to my 'old' self and enjoy life again. I stopped taking one of the strong pain pills that my other doctor has had me on for about a year now. I just decided to quit taking them on my own because I wasn't feeling like myself anymore. I will have to tell my cardiologist on Thursday. I just don't feel like I should take them if I continue to hurt anyway. I'm afraid of what they might be doing to me other than just masking the pain...a little. Besides all of that, they just kept me groggy all of the time and I don't like that. I have been feeling a bit better the last few days. Thanks everyone for your sweet comments.

Jason and his huge teddy bear...

I just love these pictures of my grandson and his bear that he got for Christmas. My daughter just gave them to me and I had to do a post with them and show off my sweet little grand baby.

He was so excited! At first he was a little afraid of the big bear because of how huge it is. It only took a few minutes to get over that fear!

I love this one with 'big bear' on top of him. Isn't he adorable?

You can tell in this picture that he was getting a little bit tired of this big bear on his back!

Christy picked it up and set it up right and Jason is looking up at him smiling.

Jason was getting a little tired and sleepy. What a nice place to cuddle up in. His big bear's soft lap.

"Will you hold me while I take my nap?"

"We can play again later after my nap. I need a 'power' nap."
I just love being a grandma.

Happy Birthday, Granny

My little granny would have been 108 years old today. I think about her every April 2nd. She went to Heaven in 1988. My daughter (granny's only great-great grandchild) was 5 years old. Christy says that she remembers her.

I ran across this birthday card one day and I just had to get it. It has the year of Granny's birth on the front and it has all kinds of things inside that happened that year. So many things have changed since then.

I took a picture out of my scrapbook. I made this page years ago. I remember putting this sticker on the page and thinking how perfect it was.
We were so close. She was a 'cool' granny. All my friends loved her and they still talk about her to this day. If we ever had a problem that we didn't think that we could handle...we would just take it to Granny and she would help us. I loved her so much.

I think that I was around 19 or 20 years old here with her. I would go and eat lunch with her almost every day on my lunch hour. I worked at a store called Howard Brothers and it was only a mile or two from her house. (It was kind of like a Walmart before we got Walmart's here) She enjoyed our lunches together. A couple of years later when she had to go into the nursing home, I still would go have lunch with her a couple of times a week. She would feel so special when I would bring her 'Sonic' burgers, her favorite. She would introduce me every time to her little friends.
Happy birthday my sweet granny. I love you and I think about you every day. We will see each other again one day.

I'm going out of town today but I will see you soon. I have you a little birthday 'happy'. Remember this picture that I took of you at Sandy's wedding? Wasn't that a beautiful house?
