These photos are from the Canton Flea market that me and my friend went to a few days ago. They had a lot of neat things. I can't believe that I didn't buy one single thing. Nothing really popped out at me. I did like this big flower pot. It was hand painted and just beautiful.

I liked this one too. I would have loved to take one home but they were too expensive.
I really love, love, love, this little painted furniture! Isn't is just so sweet and cottagy! My favorite colors, too.
These were some old buildings there in Canton. They are very pretty. It's a very pretty little town. They only have the flea market twice a year, once in May and once in October.

My little helper...
This is my baby son, Garrett. He was all ready for school. He was having school pictures taken that day. He is the sweetest little boy. He is in 2nd grade and in the gifted class. I can't help but brag!! He loves to help me do things around the cottage. He helped me paint the fence. He gets so excited when he sees me in my painting clothes and he always wants to help. We haven't finished the fence behind him yet. He keeps reminding me about it. We will get to it sooner or later.
I just got home from work. I really don't like working on Sundays. Thats just how it is in the retail world. If I ever have my own shop, I will be closed on Sunday. I want to make a career change one day. The way our economy is, you never know whats gonna happen. Garrett wishes that I could stay home with him. I wish that I could too. He is growing up so very fast.

To everything, there is a season...
My roses are almost finished blooming for this year. My little rose garden was so pretty. Next year it might even be prettier. This was the first year that I had my rose garden. I mostly have pink ones. I did have two climbing ones called "Jacob's Coat". I might add some yellow ones for next year. I love all colors of roses. Now I need to plant a few things for Fall and Winter. I'm not sure what can be planted for these seasons. I'm fairly new to this. I know that I want to plant some bulbs so they can come up in the Spring. I love tulips and daffodils. We call daffodils,'old folk flowers'. My granny use to have so many of them planted at her house. It brings back good memories when I see them. I think of her every time. It's kind of sad to know that they are almost at the end of their season. However, everything will be new in the spring.

Me and my little girl...

This is me and my daughter, Christy. The top left picture is me when I was a little girl. I think that I was 2 years old. The picture on the top right is of Christy and she was 3 years old. Everyone always says that we look alike in those 2 pictures. The bottom one is from her wedding of us. Wasn't she just a beautiful bride? I took a picture of these so that I could post them. The light flashed on the last one because I took it in the frame but it still turned out o.k. I'm always putting photos of Cole on here so I thought I better hurry up and put some of Christy. It seems like yesterday that she was a baby and now she has a baby of her own. I will post some of him soon...after I get some on here of Garrett-my middle son. Don't wanna hurt anyone's feelings.LOL I love all my children the same and they know that!!

The Old White House
This is a picture of my old bedroom a few years ago. I was more into the victorian style then. I still like that style, however I like more shabby chic style now. I have been changing my furniture by painting it white or off white. I painted the bottom of this dresser off white and I now use it in my dining room as the base of a hutch. I keep my linens and tablecloths in the drawers.
This was my parlor in the old house. The walls were peach and my couch and loveseat were red velvet. The picture is blurry...I took a picture of a picture. This was an old house. Years ago a moviestar had her wedding reception in this house. Maureen O'Hara. She married a man from the town next to here. I've always loved her. I have many of her movies. One of my favorites is The Christmas Box. If you haven't seen it yet, you should watch it during this holiday season. It is a beautiful movie and she is just as beautiful and graceful as ever .
I had throw pillows on my floor that I had thrown off of my bed. I also had rolls of wallpaper in the corner by my dresser. I was in the process of decorating the house. We had only been there for a couple of months. We sold this house and moved back to our old one. I didn't like living in town. I missed the quietness and peacefulness of the country.Posted by A Southern Rose at 8:49 AM 3 comments

My French Country Booth
Hey, ya'll. This is my booth. Can somebody please tell me how to turn this picture around?
My step-dad made the old hutch a long time ago. I'm not selling it. Maybe one day I will have a little cabin in the woods and I can use it in there. I have red and white gingham curtains that go across the bottom which I didn't use because they would hide a lot of my things. All of those colored dishes in the side rack are fiesta. I sell the dinner plates for $6.00 each and the salad plates, bowls, and mugs for $5.00 each. They usually sell pretty fast. I'm excited about the fall-fest. We need some festivities around here to lighten up the mood everyone seems to be in because of our economy situation. Posted by A Southern Rose at 7:46 PM 1 comments
