My little sister's birthday was August 26th. We decided to spend the day before her birthday together because I had a bridal show at work on her birthday and had to be there for that. We had a great time together that day. These pictures were taken that night at her house after we got back home from a long day of shopping. I was so exhausted. She thought it was so funny that she actually wore me out. She took me to so many stores...that when it was finally time for my store that I had been needing to go to, all of a sudden she was so tired and her feet were hurting, and her back was killing her...etc. We stayed in Hobby Lobby about 20 minutes at the most. lol What? You can't just shop there for 20 minutes! Anyway, she laughs about it now because she says that it was pay-back for all of the times that I pulled her into every store that I could squeeze in.
We had a great day together. I helped her pick out curtains and accessories for her new shop that she is about to open. She just finished school and is opening her own nail salon. I believe a pedicure and manicure are in order for me for all of that walking that she put me through! :) I forgot to take pictures of the birthday gift that I gave her. I had bought a beautiful comforter set and pillows, etc. for myself right before I bought my little cottage. It was way too fancy for my place so I put it in storage. Melinda and Steven built a new house and I knew it would be perfect for her new bedroom. I had never even taken it out of the package. We were too tired to fix it up that night but as soon as we do, I will post it on here. By the way, she loves it! It even has flowers on it (not roses) and she usually doesn't do flowers. These pictures have nothing to do with the above photos, but I just had to post them. Yesterday when I was outside cleaning out my car, my little boy decided to play in the old mud puddle by the driveway. lol He even asked me first! My first thought was to say 'No' but I thought about it for a minute and decided...why not? Let him be a kid! Let him get all muddy! What will it hurt? Nasty mud! He was making an army fort with rocks. He had a ball! I'm so glad that we live out in the country and he can play like we all did as kids. Those are my best memories when I was a little girl. I made countless mudpies! We would play outside from early morning until it started getting dark. Mama would have to call us in to get cleaned up for supper. Sometimes it seems like yesterday.... Now...I gotta get that driveway fixed!
Hope y'all have a great day!

Oh my gosh you bring me back memories LL. My son used to love playing with his matchbox cars in the mud. He would use rocks and grass for cliffs and mountains. It was riot to see him enjoy it so much. I would get right in it with him. Happy birthday to your sis!! Hugs. Tammy
Hi Lee, Sounds like you and your sister enjoyed her birthday doing what we all love, to shop!
Happy Birthday to her and best wishes!
Love the pics of you pretty girls too.
Your son looks like he is really having a blast. What fun memories he is making and a reminder of days gone by for a lot of us. My son did the same thing. What kid doesn't like to play in the mud.
Love how your bedroom turned out. Just gorgeous.
Thank you for stopping by. Hope you are doing well. Have a great holiday weekend.
Hugs, Celestina Marie
Hi there! You two look like you had so much fun! And your boy, too...mud's the best toy! Your bedroom turned out so pretty in the post below!
Have a great weekend!

G'eve LL ~ Your bedroom is lovely.
Love Garrett out playing in the mud ... oh, so rare a sight with children nowadays.

Your Sister looks like your daughter in these photos I think. It sounds like you shopped til you dropped! I wish her much luck on her nail shop and I loved the muddy pictures!
It looks and sounds like y'all had a great day! None of my family will shop with me...they're too scared and whimpy. ;-) Love that you let your son play in the mud. I also have memories of playing outside until momma called us in for dinner. Wouldn't trade those memories for anything. Thanks for sharing.
Also thanks for becoming a follower of Elizabeth Ann's. It was like Christmas when I saw I had a new follower!
Joyfully,
Elizabeth Ann

Pretty pictures!
And Hobby Lobby...I find it hard to ONLY spend 20 minutes there!
Hello, my friend,
I loved seeing your son in that mud puddle. I have raised two sons, and what can I say, boys and mud are attracted like two magnets!! I loved making mud pies, too, when I was a little girl. You and your sister are two beautiful gals. I am glad you got to have some "girl time" together. Have a blessed, happy weekend~Vicki
Hello my dear friend! :)
So glad you liked my fall decor...I had such a good time painting all those gourds and pumpkins! I started to paint real ones, but I decided these would last longer! LOL
Your pics of you and your sister are sweet...I don't have the priviledge of having a sister..I got a little brother, but he's still fun. :) (I guess that's why I have so many girlfriends...lack of sisterly love!) :)
Your little boy playing in that mud puddle brought so many memories back! I used to make mudpies like crazy when I was little. I played in mud almost daily...it's a wonder I ever had clothes without stains! Thanks for the flood of memories!

I always love to shop with my sister too..
Have a sweet day, hugs~Elizabeth
Great photos! And I love that have had shelties! So you know how sweet (and sassy) they can be. Love 'em!
Hi Laurie, I love your blog...of course I had to check out the songs on your playlist, awesome choices I listened to Hank Williams and will come back and listen while I sew later, I also admire that you let you child be a child and roll around in the mud!! We also were able to do that and my mom would have to hose us off outside before dinner...those unplanned muddy moments are the ones they will remember!
