Hello, My name is Lee Laurie and I am a pack-rat.

I know that Halloween is officially over....but I just had to show y'all something really REALLY scary! This is my son's old bedroom. It became a storage room after he moved out 2 years ago. Things just got thrown in there and forgotten, UNTIL....my daughter came for a visit the other day. lol (Don't zoom in too close...no telling what you'll see.) She couldn't believe her eyes! After hearing her threaten me over and over that she was going to call the hoarding police on me...for the 10th time, we decided to get to work cleaning it up. You see my precious little girl (that used to have a messy room when she was a teen) seems to have turned into a "Say No To Clutter" kind of gal. LOL

She got a garbage bag and started throwing stuff away! Me, being the pack-rat that I am, almost started having a panic attack. But she was gentle with her Mama and asked me before she put anything into the bags. :) We took out 4 of them so far and still have to finish tomorrow.

Have you ever seen so many Belk bags in one place....besides at Belk? That's the joy of working retail. Anyway, we got a lot cleaned out and I filled up my booth at the vendor's mart with goodies. I hope I sell it all 'cause it's not coming back to my house and every time I sell something, I'm putting something else in the booth to replace it. I'm gonna keep it full and my daughter is going to help me.

This is my booth. I packed it full. They are having 'Open House' this Tuesday night and I wanted to be stocked up. (I forgot my wet washcloth in one of the bowls!) lol

I'm so excited and it feels so good to have that room back....almost. Got a little more to clean out. I'm gonna make it into a den. Can't wait to get my paintbrush out and pull up that awful looking carpet. I haven't decided on colors yet. Maybe Khaki or Olive Green.

Hope I didn't scare y'all too much. I'll post more pictures soon. I know with Christy as my motivator it will be really soon!

It was a bit nerve-racking (haha), but LOOK at what you managed to accomplish! Great job. You have a whole room now. What will you do with it?

Do you enjoy having your booth? It is something you like or do you just find yourself constantly going and refilling it?

Anyway -- excellent!

Hi Laurie!! I hope you have wonderful sales on your items that you put in your vendor booth, and I look forward to seeing your room painted! I like kaki and olive green both are in my home so I cannot give you any help in that decision. Good choices to choose from! I have an adult daughter that gives me advice and helps me too and I really do have things to learn from her now! Daughters are great, wonderful, and a blessing!!

Hi Lee Laurie,
It is always wonderful to clear out and redo a room. Your daughter is so great to help you out with it. I know it can be overwhelming, but together, less of a job.

Your booth space looks great and very inviting. I hope you sell it all and have a great open house.

Have fun with the painting. I know it will be gorgeous and perfect for a den.
Thank you for stopping by and your sweet comment. Have a great week.
Hugs, Celestina Marie

Hahahaha .. this was funny !! Organized chaos .. You will feel soo much better with it all put away or sold at your sweet booth .. It's amazing everything we hold onto .. just for the sake of not knowing exactly what to do with all our hidden treasures .. at least you will get some money for some of it ..

You made me giggle, and I can't wait to see your "NeW" room all made pretty .. That's the FuN part of all this cleaning .. Good-luck sweetie, and have FuN going through all you STUFF !! It's going to be beautiful I promise.
Hopefully you are having a restful evening ~

Hey girlie! Wow, you've been a busy beaver in that room! I have a problem with getting rid of things too, but this week I have carted out bags of stuff. I've been cleaning out closets and I have bags loaded up to give to my mom to put in her booth! (she has three, so she's all the time looking for "stuff" to put in there!)
Thanks for thinking my Carson is cute...I think so too, but I'm his momma! lol We had a wonderful day at the orchard. I wished you lived closer to me...we have a BUNCH of different orchards and farms...I'd say we have at least 5 within a 5-10 mile radius of my house! (not all orchards, but berry farms and regular farms that grow and sell. But I do have 2 orchards right within a couple of miles of my house!...I know, I'm blessed!) ;)
Have a great week my friend!

Hi Lee Laurie!
I was so happy to see that you had stopped by for a visit. I love meeting new friends. I have to tell you, you are not alone...My basement, garage, back porch and front porch looked exactly like your room until a couple of months ago! LOL. Can't wait to see it painted and all done. Hope you have a great sale.
Hugs,
Toni

Laurie...

First...thank you for visiting me today! Your sweet comments always make me smile.

Next...

This past summer my guy and I dove head first into our garage. It was out of control and I couldn't handle it any longer. So...we worked like dogs hauling more things than I can say to the 2nd hand store and some to the dump!

The result was peace of mind and a place for my SUV and his company car. Life is again normal and I no longer feel like I am in need of pro help! hahahha

LOVE YOUR BOOTH!

LOL! It's funny how a kid with a messy room can turn into a neat freak and vice versa. Your booth looks good. That's something I've often thought about doing.

Hi Lee Laurie~ I'm pleased to meet you! What a big job decluttering that room but in the end the "New" pretty room will be so much more rewarding. Good luck, I hope things are flying off the shelves at your booth. It looks like you had some neat things in there.
If you havent checked her out yet go see Flylady, the link is on my blog in yesturdays post. Her methods for decluttering really, really work. Take it from one who knows- my dining room used to look just like that bedroom!
