Decorating Christy's bedroom

Sunday afternoon I spent the afternoon with my daughter at her house. I called her and told her that I had bought her a few things to decorate her bedroom. She has been wanting to have a 'beach' theme. She already had her bathroom decorated from different things that they have bought on their many trips to the beach. I found her this little sign that says 'Relax' to go above her bathtub.

Look at these beautiful silk curtains that I bought for her where I work. The original price on them was $94.00 a panel. I got them for $12.00 a panel. What a deal! They are dry clean only and when we took them out of the packages they had about a million wrinkles in them. At first we hung them up and thought maybe the wrinkles would eventually fall out. They looked terrible. So I ironed all of them on the wrong side and got as many wrinkles out as I could. They look a lot better. She hung this picture here just until we can get something else to go there. It doesn't have a glass and the print is all warped. Maybe if we put glass on it that will help. I'm going to look for her a big beach scene picture to go over her bed. I think that I will look on ebay tonight. I like buying prints on there and framing them myself. The flowers I bought to match the wreath. She is not into flowers that much but she loves Hydrangeas.

This is her hubby's end table on his side.

This is her side. I bought her those candles to match her frame. She loves candles as much as I do. I could see so much of myself in Christy while watching her move things from place to place decorating her room. I gave her some ideas but I didn't want to seem like that I was doing it my way. I'm so proud of her.

This is the best deal of all. I got her this 10 piece 'Waverly' comforter set for only $26.00. I was hoping that she would like it. I was a little worried that she wouldn't because it has flowers on it. She is not into flowers like I am. I was so happy when she told me that she loved it. It didn't have curtains to match so I had to get those silk ones. I thought that it would pull out more of the blue from the comforter. The wreath I got for only $15.00 and it was originally $60.00. I also bought one for me for my guest room. It looks really small on this big wall. When I get her a big picture, we can move it.

It felt so good watching Christy move things here and there in her room. She was so excited! She called me later that night and told me that she loved her room and that she just had to keep walking back in there to look at it. Now she wants to paint all of her furniture in there 'cottage white". I smiled when she said that. She is getting more and more like me everyday! I told her that I would help her one day soon.
I'm so proud of Christy and her little family. She works hard and is such a good little mama and wife.

I haven't forgotten about the giveaway! My little boy comes home from his vacation on Wednesday and I'm going to let him draw the winner! He will love doing that!

Aww such a sweet room for your daughter. It's always fun adding things so they won't have to buy them. I have to do this again for my son as he just moved. I'm looking forward to it as much as you sound like you were.

The room is beautiful and it will look gorgeous with the furniture painted white. Since it was raining outside yesterday my little girl and I made a cardboard doll house using shoeboxes...well she wanted to use all light shabby chic colors and told me she is going to have a shabby chic room!...have you received the parcel yet?? I mailed it last Monday as promised.
