Our day...

I haven't been posting for the last couple of days. Just been very busy with work. Monday was my off day this week and I had promised my little boy that I would spend the whole day with him. I woke up Monday morning and my whole entire body was hurting from the Fibromyalgia. I had to force myself to even get out of bed. Also it has been so hot here the last couple of weeks that you just about don't want to do anything. We went without rain for about 3 weeks until today. We got a little light shower. The heat advisories have been out for the last 3 days.

Anyway, I just had to force myself to get up and get out of the house with him. I'm so glad that I did. We had such a good time together. We took this picture outside of the theater. He is the most precious little man. We went to the movies to see 'UP'. It was a very good movie, however it did have a few really sad parts in it. It made me get teary eyed. I kept looking at him and I could tell that it made him sad too. We even went to a thrift store and found some cute things. Garrett is so funny. He would keep finding me things that he thought that I would like. He would say "I know that it is ugly now, but you could paint it 'shabby chic' white and it would be pretty. LOL He also brought a book over to me that he wanted. He said that his teacher in first grade read it to his class everyday until it was finished. He said that it was his favorite. When I looked down and saw the title, I was shocked. It was the first chapter book that I had ever read all by myself. I was in the 3rd grade. I remember picking it out at the library and checking it out. I couldn't wait to get home and read it. I remember climbing up in the Mimosa tree in my front yard and reading it. I finished it in one afternoon. I was so proud of myself. It was called "The Boxcar Children". Did any of you ever read it?

What a cutie! I'm glad you got to spend some quality time with your little man. I've never read these books, I think they're a series, but I have heard they're very good. Sorry you aren't feeling well. My Aunt has the same thing as you and My Mom thought she might have it as well, the fatique, traveling muscle pains, aches. However her Doctor thinks it may e rheumatoid arthritis. She's plugging along until she figures it out. I hope you feel better soon!

You two are cute pair!! Love the photo. So sorry you were hurting, hope you feel better and more like yourself soon. Sounds like you had a wonderful day in spite of it. Oh my goodness, I absolutely loved the Boxcar Children, I do believe I could read it to this day. What fun that he wanted that book. I think it is most awesome when the kiddos love to read. I'm a reader and come from a long line of teachers and librarians and readers!!! Hope your day is beautiful, bright and sunny!

Boxcars!!!! Memories right there. How sweet that you were able to spend the day with him. I used to do that with my son as well. I have so many memories stored of things we did together. Specially when he was feeling ill, we would watch movies together. The cartoon version of the tolken classics, hobbit, lord of the ring and return of the king. The fun we had singing along to the songs...
