The joy of giving...

Look what my sweet neighbor brought over for me the other day. Fresh veggies out of her garden. Don't they look beautiful? I don't eat raw tomatoes so I am going to cook them down and freeze them to use when I make chili or taco soup. I used the potatoes last night. I made smothered potatoes with onions...just like my granny use to do. Yummy! My neighbor was so sweet to think about us. Her name is Miss. Leona and all the kids around here call her 'MawLee'. She loves that. She keeps Popsicles and cookies on hand for whenever they go over to visit her. And believe me, they do that!

This is a picture that I have in my kitchen on the wall next to my stove. I love it. I bought it at Fred's dollar store for only $19.00. Click on the picture and you can see the detail. Even the frame is detailed. I bought the little shelf at a thrift shop for $5.00 and I painted it 'Heirloom White' like my cabinets. The platter, pitcher, and candle all came from thrift stores too. The three bottom plates came from Belk. They were being closed out so I was able to get the dinner plates, salad plates, bowls, and mugs. I bought 6 of each. They are still packed up and I haven't found them yet. I think that I will hang the mugs on the bottom of the top shelf.

Y'all, I am so excited! A few months ago, I sent my friend Penny at 'Lavender Hill Studio' a little box of happies. That is what I call them whenever I give somebody something for no special reason. She is the sweetest lady and soooo talented! I knew that she would make this rooster into a beautiful mosaic piece! I also sent her this pretty apron because she collects them and she also loves roosters! The old book came from a thrift store. She loves 'old' garden books. I didn't know that she like geraniums when I bought it.

Look what she did? It is even more beautiful than I thought it would be! She is amazing! If you get a chance, go by her blog and meet her if you don't know her already. She is the sweetest person.
I've got to get ready for work now. I'm off this week-end and I am so excited about that! I plan on getting some unfinished projects done around here!
Have a great day!
