That's Alright Mama...

Today is mentor day for my son at Camp Shelby. His mentor is a friend of mine. They write each other weekly and talk on the phone almost every Saturday. They will get to spend the day together on the base. Cole was excited. He says that he feels so alone there. He didn't really want to go back after his first pass. They allowed him to bring his guitar back with him. I think that really helped. He loves to write music and sing and play his guitar. He is very good. He told me on the phone the other night that he plays for all of his buddies in his platoon. I can just picture that!! When he was in second grade, he played Elvis in the school play. He was so cute. His guitar was bigger than he was. I will have to find an old picture and post it one day. Cole has such a big heart. I miss him. This picture was of me and him when we left him at Camp Shelby for the first time.

Hi Lee Laurie,
I am so glad I inspired you, just wish I lived closer I would come over and help! Yes I also thought our son's looked similar, but I thought this girl is going to think I'm nuts, but that pic of you standing at the register looks like I'm looking at myself! I also wanted to tell you my son is also a guitar player and singer in his youth group band! Anyways have fun with your new projects and I will check in soon, I hope you show some pic of the before and after, that would be fun!
Hugs~Kelly

Its nice that your son was allowed to bring his guitar. I remember going through basic training and how homesick I was.
