I love Autumn...

Today was such a pretty Autumn day. It felt so good outside. I was able to get a few things done at my cottage. That always feels good. I got a few things out of storage to decorate with for fall. I also got a few more things together to put in my booth. I will take them by there before I go to work tomorrow. I have so much "country" stuff in storage that I want to get rid of. I use to love that style of decorating! I went through the whole country geese and chicken thing. Pine furniture and shelves with hearts cut out, country blue everything, and wicker baskets everywhere. Isn't it funny how our tastes change? I wonder if in a few years I will look back on my shabby chic, cottage style and be saying this same thing? I wonder what will be the 'in' style then? I know that I wont ever stop loving roses!

Hi Laurie,
Thank you for stopping by One Shabby Old House. I would be honored if you listed me on your blog list.
You sound like me. I decorated country and now I am shabby chic. I am weeding out things. And just when I thought I was about to part with some stacking benches I saw them painted black and they had white pumpkins on them. So I am really rethinking each piece. lol

I was not too much into the country stuff, well at least not the geese thing ~ although my mom was! Everything country blue. I have always loved Victorian stuff and I do like shabby chic, just not too shabby!

I love this time of the year too. I love sitting on the front porch with my friend having our morning coffee together. It has to be Foldgers. We have a few bird feeders and enjoy watching all the birds....of course the hummingbirds are about to leave though. We try to do a little something everyday....she will say "every little bit helps". LOL. We are finding a happy median from her shabby chic to my cabin/hunt/outdoors decor. We would love a cabin in the woods to go along with the house. Speaking of storage....2 big storage sheds in the back yard...a rental storage unit...just isn't enough...ha. We enjoy working together making memories. She loves to paint...is very creative and can color match with the best of 'em and yes....has many projects for the both of us. We will never catch up...which is fine, because we have the rest of our lives to work on them....together. Wish you luck and much happiness with your cottage!
