Never too sick to shop!

This is me taken after I had been sick with that bad head and chest cold. I still could barely talk above a whisper. I had been shut up at home for a couple of days and I just had to get out. This is one of my favorite booths. It is very shabby chic.

Missing my first born son

This is my son Cole the day he was getting signed up at Camp Shelby. He was so nervous but he tried hard to hide it. The hand in the picture is his brother Garrett's, just being his silly self. I haven't heard from Cole in a few days and I miss him.

Brotherly Love

Well, I finally think I've figured out how to post my photos. This is Cole and Garrett (my two boys) on the way to Camp Shelby. Cole will graduate from there in December. He is doing very good there. He is even talking about joining the service after he graduates. There is ten years age difference between Cole and Garrett. They fuss sometimes, however they take up for one another most of the time. I can't believe how much they both have grown up.

A New Season

Well, I painted my front door. The color is called 'olive grove'. I'm not sure about this color. It looks like sweet pea baby food to me. I know it will go better with my fall decorations. Speaking of babies, I got to play with my grandbaby yesterday. I kept him from 4:00 until 8:00. He is so sweet. I went and spent the night with my daughter and him last night because her husband had to work all night til 6:00 this morning. I came home early this morning to do a few things before I have to be at work at 11:00. It feels so good outside. I love this new season that is beginning. I believe that the changing seasons are a gift from God.

Fall is finally here!

I'm back!!! Just been so busy lately! This past Sunday we had our bridal expo at work. It turned out ok. Not as good as the last one. We have one every six months. A lot of work is involved in preparing for the expo and this time with me being sick I missed a couple of days of work right before the expo. I had a head and chest cold. I had to work one day not being able to talk at all. I could barely even whisper. My customers were all very understanding. The funny thing is when I would whisper to them, they would whisper back to me. It was a very quiet day! I flew out of there at 5:00. I felt so bad. I went to my doctor the next day and he put me on the Z-pack. I feel lots better now. I've been able to get a few things done here at my cottage. I painted my top kitchen cabinets. I used heirloom lace. I haven't decided if I'm going to use the same color on the bottom cabinets. I thought about painting them black like my hutch. I dont know yet. I dont want all of the black to make it too dark in there. My appliances are also black. I probably will go with the heirloom lace which is a pretty creamy ivory. What do you think? My walls are yellow and my accent color is red. I like those colors together. It makes my kitchen have a warm feeling.

Today is my off day from work. I want to do so many things here at the cottage. I'm going to paint my front door. A couple of months ago I had painted it bright pink. It looks pretty but now I want to decorate for fall and the bright pink just doesn't work at all. I am repainting it today a pretty olive green. That will look much better. Im ready to get my fall decorations out. I love fall. I love all of the warm colors. Well...I better go get started!

Only A Whisper

Last night I went to bed with a sore throat. This morning I woke up and couldn't talk. I feel terrible. I have to work from 8:30 to 1:00 by myself. My department is huge and it is gonna be hard not being able to speak to my customers. It will be a challenge today!! This Saturday is my day off and I plan to paint the front of my cottage. I started a little already. It is going to be a light yellow. It is white now with dark green trim. I will paint all of the trim ultra white. I want to get a swing. Every southern porch needs a swing! It will be so peaceful to sit out on my swing and drink my coffee in the mornings and visit all of my new blogging friends. I will take before and after pictures to post. I still haven't figured out how to do that yet. to work I go. I hope customers don't get to aggravated with me having to whisper.

Roses After Rain

Today I called in sick to work. I hate when I have to do that. I had a fibromyalgia flare up today. I think it has a lot to do with the weather and the fact that I didn't get much sleep last night. I watched the weather channel all through the night. I feel so bad for the people in Texas. Hurricane Ike was huge! I dont understand why people would stay there after they were told to leave and explained to how dangerous it was to be. We got a lot of wind and some rain. Not as much as with Gustav. I couldn't sleep with the weather so I stayed on the computer for hours. I even looked up the hurricane of 1900 in Galveston. That was a terrible disaster! My heart goes out to all of the men, women, and children that lost their lives. It was round 6000 of them. My great grandmother was born the very next year. This afternoon I walked outside to look around to see if there was any wind damage. Just a lot of tree limbs all over the yard. There are five or six roses that opened up overnight or this morning that were not there yesterday. They are beautiful and pink. My favorite color. Seeing them made me feel a little better. Lets all remember the people in Texas and keep them in our prayers.

Busy as a bee...

I feel bad that I have not posted for a while. I have been so busy with just everyday stuff! My internet was also down for a few days due to hurricane Gustov. Now there is another one headed into the gulf. I dont like bad weather at all. I will be glad when hurricane season is over. We got a lot of wind and rain with Gustov and were without lights for 3 days. When Katrina hit, we were without power for about 20 days. I will post again later, I have to go to work now. Tonight is my younger son's 2nd soccer game. He is excited. I missed the first one because I was sick. When the weather gets bad my body hurts all over. I have had fibromyalgia since 1996. That is when the doctors diagnosed me after several test for other things. There is not a specific test for this condition. They just have to rule everything else out first. I was tested for so many different illnesses, such as Lupus, Lyme Disease, Mutiple Sclerosis, Mono, Esptein Barr, etc. It was a long and sometimes painful process. I feel for people who have this condition because it is not a visable condition and sometimes other people dont understand how you can hurt all over. One day maybe they will find a cure to this and people wont have to suffer and we can be able to have a more normal pain free life. Until then you just gotta keep on keeping on and try not to let it get you down!
